I made these for a couple of my cousin’s children. The pattern was easy to follow. Instead of one long piece for the front pocket, I used a panel picture and two small side pieces to make up the front pocket in the size needed. I used the directions for making the envelope back instead of a zippered back.

I purchased the pattern as a first project for my 6 year old granddaughter. I did the prep work ahead of time and walked her through the steps. We finished in about an hour and a half. She was super proud of her completed project and I'll probably have her make one for her sister :-)

I loved the pattern! I purchased the PDF. I like having print to refer to as I am a fairly new quilter and crafter. Still making mistakes and appreciate all the hints in your posts. I found the ribbon needed to be 6” from the ends instead of 3”. That may have been an error in the instructions but easy to figure out what to do. Thank you for sharing your creative designs and experIence! My granddaughters love anything I make them ❤️

The pattern is clearly written and easy to follow, and I always appreciate visuals. It's the addition of a pocket and handle that makes this different from other pillow covers and caught my eye. I made four of these for grandchildren for Christmas, and made matching crayon rolls to tuck into the narrower pockets for the youngest ones. A couple of minor changes: I positioned the zipper farther down the back than the pattern calls for and made it a covered zipper. Also, I sewed the handle ends closer together to avoid buckling when carried. I think the kids will love them.

Enjoyed making this reading pillow. I liked the fact that there were several different style options available. Since this reading pillow was a gift for a 1 year old I made a detachable strap using kam snap clips. Instructions were easy to follow. Struggled with the piping, but it was my first time using piping & I’m sure over time that technique will improve. Thanks for the great pattern!
